TUESDAY’S PREP GIRLS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Oakland Christian blanks Summit; Mona Shores rolls Holland; TC Central-TC West battle to draw


ROMEO, Mich. — Auburn Hills Oakland Christian scored early and often in an 8-0 non-league victory Tuesday over Romeo Summit Home School.


Junior Leah Zarrelli scored five goals to lead the Lancers. Freshman Rowan Klein notched a goal and two assists, sophomore Valeria Santurtun had two goals and an assist, junior Jessica Reyes picked up three assists and Morgan Kwapsis also had an assist for Oakland Christian (2-0-0), which has outscored its opposition 16-0 so far this season.


The Mountaineers are 1-2-0 on the campaign.



MUSKEGON MONA SHORES 8, HOLLAND 0: The Sailors took another step towards the Ottawa Kent Conference Green Division title with this lopsided victory Tuesday night. Shay Norden led the attack with three goals and an assist and Lilly Houle also netted an hattrick for Mona Shiores. (5-1-1, 2-0-1). Ella Kinney and Kylie Dusenberry also scored, while Katie Phillips had three assists and Ella Charland and Ava Frye had single helpers for the Sailors. Jersey VanderWall made just one save for her fourth clean sheet of the campaign, while Emma Anderson, Amelia Coffin, Mal Hogston and Makenna Oneka starred defensively for Mona Shores.\


TRAVERSE CITY CENTRAL 1, TRAVERSE CITY WEST 1: These two teams finished 1-2 in the Big North Conference standings last year. The two squared off for the first time this season and battled to a 1-1 draw. Addison Booher scored in the 23rd minute and Amelia Jordan made five saves for the Trojans (2-1-2, 0-0-1). Avery Plummer countered with a goal in the 64th minute off a Harper Nelson feed and Claire Miner notched four saves in goal for West (3-1-1, 0-0-1).


PONTIAC NOTRE DAME PREP 4, ROCHESTER 4: These two state-ranked teams engaged in a wild affair Tuesday in Pontiac. Ellie Whalen had a goal and an assist while Maggie Maher, Emily Teolis and Carr Jesena also scored for the Irish. Adrianna Lorenz had two assists and Alaina Polsinelli had one assist for the Irish, who led 3-0 early. Kiely Robinson scored twice and Katelyn Guolla and Presley Johnson also scored for Rochester.


TROY ATHENS 1, ROCHESTER STONEY CREEK 0: Athens moved to 5-0-2 on the year and have now outscored the opposition 19-1 following this OAA Red Division victory over the defending Division 1 state champs. Lulu Thaqi scored the goal off an assist by Emily Mendrick and Ashley Miller recorded the team’s sixth shutout for the Red Hawks.


ESSEXVILLE GARBER 1, FRANKENMUTH 1: Ella Betzhold scored the goal for the Dukes in this Tric Valley Conference tie Tuesday.


MARSHALL 2, VICKSBURG 0: For the fourth straight game, Marshall faced off with a team ranked in the top 15 or honorable mention in the rankings and came away with this hard-fought non-conference win. Addie Watto scored in the third minute off a steal and feed from Anaya Burghdorf. Ollie Rozell’s laser shot off feeds from Waito and Jordyn St. Johns resulted in the insurance tally for the Redhawks. Ally Zulewski netted the shutout for Marshall (3-3-0).


HARTLAND 4, NOVI 2: State-ranked Hartland doubled up Novi in this KLAA -West Division win Tuesday, good enough for the Eagles’ sixth straight victory. Addie Frantti scored off an assist from Paige Sundman for 1-0 halftime lead, while Alyse Daavettila added a goal and an assist, Claire L’Esperance netted the game winner and Sundman scored a late insurance tally off a feed from L’Esperance for Hartland (6-1-0, 5-1-0. Novi scored twice in a four-minute stretch of the second half to tie the game at 2-2.


SOUTHFIELD CHRISTIAN-NOVI CHRISTIAN UNIFIED 7, BRIGHTON CHARYL STOCKWELL ACADEMY 0: Grace Bell scored three goals, Emma Dean added two tallies and Anika Jaroszewski and Claire Christiopherson were able to score single goals for the Eagles in this MIAC win. Julie Webber notched three assists, Jaroszewski had two assists, and Kaitlyn Groh picked up her third shutout of the season for Southfield Christian (3-1-0, 2-1-0), which has outscored its opposition 20-2 so far this season.


ALLEN PARK INTER-CITY BAPTIST 8, LIVONIA CLARENCEVILLE 0: Inter-City Baptist moved to 2-1 on the campaign with this lopsided MIAC win Tuesday at home.


BURTON GENESEE CHRISTIAN 5, ROCHESTER HILLS LUTHERAN NORTHWEST 1: The Soldiers netted the  non-league win Tuesday over the Crusaders.


ROCKFORD 4, EAST KENTWOOD 0: Four different goal scorers lifted the Rams to this shutout over the Flacons in OKC-Red Division play. Rockford (4-0-2) has now outscored the opposition 21-2 this season.


OKEMOS 3, HOLT 2: Defending CAAC-Blue Division champion moved to 3-3-0 overall but 2-0-0 in conference play with this narrow win Tuesday.


LAINGSBURG 8, DANVILLE 0: Laingsburg scored early and often in this victory Tuesday.
