Teams from all over Oakland Athletics Association traveled to Troy Athens High School on Friday August 12, 2022 to talk about their upcoming 2022 Fall Season. In attendance were schools from the Red, White and Blue Divisions. Rochester, West Bloomfield, Avondale, Pontiac, Oak Park, Lake Orion, Clarkston, Stoney Creek, Berkley, Troy High and Athens. Each school had 3-5 minutes to talk about their upcoming season, talk about key players and take questions from the Michigan Soccer Network and members from the local media.
This event was the first of its kind for Boys Soccer in Oakland County, as in years past the only media attention Boys Soccer received was from pre-season previews written by the media. "High School Football and other sports have held media days in the past and I felt that with the progress MSN has made over the past year with our livestream coverage that we could do more for these young men and schools", said Jonathan Turner Director of Broadcasting for the Michigan Soccer Network. Soccer in Michigan needs more coverage, it deserves more coverage and the Michigan Soccer Network is committed to doing whatever it takes to help create more exposure for the game of soccer.
